Three Idiots Plot Story



Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi), and Rancho or Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan) are three engineering students who all share the same room in a hostel at the fictional Imperial College of Engineering, one of the best colleges in India (modelled after IIT). While Farhan and Raju are mediocre students from modest backgrounds, Rancho is a wealthy genius who studies for the sheer joy of it. Yet it is precisely his passion for knowledge and his gift for creating machines that incurs the wrath of Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe (ViruS) (Boman Irani). Threatened by Rancho's talent, ViruS labels him an "idiot" and attempts on a number of occasions to destroy his friendship with Farhan and Raju. In contrast, ViruS’ model student is Chatur Ramalingam or "Silencer," (Omi Vaidya) a geek who lives by conforming to the expectations of the system, mindless cramming, and unethical means of destroying his competition. Meanwhile, Rancho also falls in love with ViruS' pre-med daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor).

Their story is framed as a flashback from the present day, ten years after graduation. Having lost contact with Rancho who disappeared during the graduation party. Raju and Farhan get a call from Chatur, whom 10 years ago challenged Rancho to see who would be more successful, him or Rancho. Raju and Farhan crash Pia's wedding, and she goes along with them to find Rancho. Chatur thinks that Rancho is a schoolteacher, but Rancho tells everyone that he is Phunsukh Wangdu, a world-famous scientist whom Chatur is waiting to sign a deal with, much to Chatur's shock and dismay.

James Francis Cameron (born August 16, 1954) is a Canadian film director, producer, screenwriter and film inventor. His writing and directing work include The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Aliens, Titanic and Avatar. To date, his directorial efforts have grossed approximately US$1.3 billion in North America (adjusted for inflation) and close to US$3.5 billion worldwide. After several feature films, Cameron turned his focus to documentary filmmaking and the co-development of the digital 3-D Fusion Camera System. He returned to feature filmmaking with the epic science fiction film Avatar, which made use of the Fusion Camera System technology. Avatar was released in theaters on December 17th, 2009.

Plot Summary of Avatar
